About Us:

Rooted in the Work (RTW) is a consulting and creative justice collective supporting community-led institutions, programs, and people.

We collaborate with organizers, cultural workers, and youth-centered spaces to build long-term systems of care, through strategy, fundraising, storytelling, and infrastructure development.

Our work supports efforts rooted in healing, freedom, and justice, including youth publishing, food autonomy, and intergenerational storytelling.

Through relational strategy and place-based partnerships, we help communities move from vision to implementation, from survival to structure.

By 2030, Rooted in the Work will culminate in the development of a Restorative Sanctuary in Ghana, a land-based site for rest, cultural work, and long-term healing for the global Black diaspora.

Our Values:

1. Healing as Practice:

Healing isn’t an outcome; it’s a daily discipline. Every circle, every conversation, every risk taken in truth brings us closer to balance.

2. Community as Method:

We build with, not for. Our work centers lived experience and honors the leadership of those most impacted by harm.

3. Accountability and Transparency:

We believe clarity is care. Every resource, relationship, and decision is rooted in trust and integrity.

4. Creative and Cultural Agency

Storytelling, art, and ritual are tools of transformation. Expression is both education and repair.

5. Mobility and Access:

Healing belongs everywhere. Through our circle parties and partnerships, we remove barriers and bring care directly to the community.

6. Land and Legacy:

We return to the land as our ultimate site of restoration, the Ghana Sanctuary represents sustainability, continuity, and the global connection between liberation movements.
